Heartland Farms

Meet Heartland Farms, who supplied the potatoes in your bag of Kettle Brand chips.

Tater Tidbit: Heartland Farms is a fifth-generation, family-owned potato and vegetable farm rooted in central Wisconsin. What began as an 80-acre homestead in 1873 has grown into a collaborative farming operation grounded in stewardship, innovation, and long-term partnerships. Today, Heartland is proud to be a true “Family of Families.” Alongside the Pavelski family, the Knights and Kennedy families are integral partners in the operation. While each family’s journey at Heartland began at different times, all share deep agricultural roots and a lifelong commitment to farming and caring for the land.

Sustainable Spud: Heartland has participated in our corporate sustainable agriculture program and uses several regenerative practices, including:

🌱 Planting Cover Crops: adds protective cover, carbon-rich matter, and plant diversity that build soil health.

🐝 Maintaining Pollinator Habitats: supports bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

💧 Using Soil Moisture Sensors: helps farmers to steward their use of irrigation water.

🌷 Practicing edge-of-field management: prevents field runoff to conserve soil and water.
